Best Beaches in Maui for Adventure

If you’re looking for beaches where you can actually do more than just sit around, these are some of the best options.

Kaanapali Beach is the most versatile. You can snorkel, surf, paddleboard, or get out on the water in different ways.

Makena Beach, also known as Big Beach, has a strong shore break and is better for people who are comfortable in the water.

Honolua Bay is known for clear water and good snorkeling, and in the winter it becomes a surf spot.

DT Fleming Beach gets more open ocean swell and is good for bodyboarding and surfing when conditions line up.

Napili Bay is more relaxed and good for swimming and paddleboarding.

Baldwin Beach on the north shore has a more local feel and tends to be less crowded, but conditions can be rougher.

The best way to actually experience these beaches is to get in the water and move around instead of staying in one spot the whole time.
