What to Do in Maui for First-Time Visitors
If it’s your first time in Maui, the best approach is to keep things simple and not overload your schedule.
Start with a beach day. Kaanapali is an easy choice and gives you a feel for the island right away.
Plan one day for an ocean activity. That could be snorkeling, surfing, or trying something different like electric surfing.
Set aside a day for the Road to Hana if you want to explore. Leave early and don’t rush it.
Another day can be for Haleakalā and Upcountry. It’s a completely different environment from the beach.
Then leave a day open for a boat trip, snorkeling, or just relaxing.
The biggest mistake people make is trying to do everything. Maui is better when you give yourself time to slow down.
